Name: Katherine Lawrence-Jones
Representative of: Illinois, the 21st State
Age: 203 as of 2021 when first made a state. First explored in 1673 for a total of 348. Physically 18-20.
Personality:
Her personality can be seen as a front, more of an exaggerated act. Outside of Chicago, the Midwestern area has farms along with fields of corn and wheat, which isn’t exactly the most exciting scenery. She’s actually much more relaxed to those she knows well. In private, Kate is a lover of vintage things, the outside and animals. Family and friends are everything to Kate, she’ll do whatever it takes to back them up and fight for them. She’ll butt heads with others if she has to.
Physical Description:
Standing roughly at 5’6” (167.64 cm), Kate is a young woman with beige skin, wide hips, long legs and a fit figure. She has sharp, upturned hazel eyes. Her hair is dark brown, often messy and tousled looking from the wind up near Lake Michigan. It parts more to the left side, giving her side-swept bangs. The length goes past her shoulders, down to her shoulder blades.
Brief History:
European exploration and colonization began in the 1600s, with Illinois becoming new territory of France known as New France or Upper Louisiana, then La Louisiane. That is until 1763, when the territory was passed down to British rule following France's defeat in the Seven Years' War. The territory was kept as a reservation for Native American tribes until 1818, where it became apart of the United States. Illinois's largest city, Chicago, established in 1833 and the population would skyrocket during the Civil War. Throughout the Prohibition Era in the 1920s - 1930s, gangster activity was prominent with the Chicago Outfit and Irish Mob/North Side Gang rivalry, culminating to the Valentine's Day Massacre. Illinois also had a role in the emergence of the nuclear age and Manhattan project during World War II.
Religious affiliation: Roman Catholic, open minded.
