Representative of:
Pride.
Gender:
Female.
Age:
Human: 21.
Historical: First mention as a deadly sin in the bible, yet pride has been around forever.
Brief personality:
Aesara is quite prideful of her appearance and beauty, knowing for a fact that she’s amazing and wonderful in every way. She’s not as distant as pride since she doesn’t feel as much guilt over the pass. Although, she does love it when others complement her, unlike Aethelric, she’ll thank them and possibly compliment back. One of her pet peeves is when someone touches her hair… It’s very valuable to her, and she’d never cut it. When she’s angry, she reacts violently. Unlike Aethelric, she’ll actually admit to caring about someone.
Brief physical description:
She has long, waist length of luxurious complexion. It’s soft and no one’s hair can compete in shininess and fullness. Her eyes are a misty grey colour, showing wisdom, kindness, and yet confidence. She has smooth, pale grey skin and a slender, tall body. About 6’0”, she weighs no more than 135 lb. She typically wears elegant gowns of neutral colours, as well a smaller crown floating above her head.
Brief history:
Pride is considered, on almost every list, the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins: the source of the others. It is identified as believing that one is essentially better than others, failing to acknowledge the accomplishments of others, and excessive admiration of the personal self. It also includes vainglory which is unjustified boasting. Dante’s definition of pride was “love of self-perverted to hatred and contempt for one’s neighbour”. In Jacob Bidermann’s medieval miracle play, Cenodoxus, pride is the deadliest of all the sins and leads directly to the damnation of the titulary famed Parisian doctor. In perhaps the best-known example, the story of Lucifer, pride (his desire to compete with God) was what caused his fall from Heaven, and his resultant transformation into Satan. In Dante's Divine Comedy, the penitents are burdened with stone slabs on their necks which force them to keep their heads bowed. The devil himself is associated with pride, as stated before.
Her virtue is Humility.
