Skelliott - The Black Death

Skelliott. He has no last name, for he is just a mutated rat. He was once called Elliott before his torso was ripped open.

Brief personality:
Upon first meeting this rat-man, he will be reluctant to socialize and tends to be rude. When everything starts easing up though and he feels more comfortable, he will act with his usual carefree, sassy attitude. His humour is awfully crude and dark. Outside he may appear to be a terrible monster, but on the inside is a soft little kind rat. Actually. Not really. He’s really just a bit of an asshole. He seems to enjoy the presence of people similar to him in personality.

Brief physical description:
Standing at a height of 6’2, this giant rat is covered in light blue fur. His nose, ears, hands, feet, and tail are a bare pink hue. Both of his eyes are a pretty sunflower yellow, but his red eye bags give them a contradictory drabby appearance instead. He has one cut-shaped scar going across his left eye, along with a small cut on the left side of his lip and a big bloody gash on his left shoulder. Just below his chest, his skin is cut off to reveal a big bloody ribcage. Just below it are his legs. The fur on his waist in blood-stained from all the drippiness. Both of his ears are torn up. The left ear has a single small black c-shaped piercing. His right ear has a plain gage piercing with a black plug going through it.

Brief history:
The Black Death, also known as the Great Plague or the Plague, or less commonly the Black Plague, was one of the most devastating pandemics in human history, resulting in the deaths of an estimated 75 to 200 million people in Eurasia and peaking in Europe from 1347 to 1351. The bacterium Yersinia pestis, which results in several forms of plague, is believed to have been the cause. The Black Death was the first major European outbreak of plague, and the second plague pandemic. The plague created a number of religious, social and economic upheavals which had profound effects on the course of European history.

The Black Death is thought to have originated in the dry plains of Central Asia, where it travelled along the Silk Road, reaching Crimea by 1343. From there, it was most likely carried by fleas living on the black rats that traveled on all merchant ships, spreading throughout the Mediterranean Basin and Europe.

The Black Death is estimated to have killed 30% to 60% of Europe's population. In total, the plague may have reduced the world population from an estimated 450 million to 350–375 million in the 14th century. It took 200 years for the world population to recover to its previous level. The plague recurred as outbreaks in Europe until the 19th century.

Personal history:
Skelliott is the result of an experiment by Kagenori Kurosawa, representative of illness. Skelliott, however, and many others are to refer to him as “Nine.” To the public, he has no name. Skel, being the little rodent he is, hates humans and stays by Nine’s side for two main reasons: He’s too afraid to try and escape, and he personally enjoys making humans suffer anyway.

Born in China, Skelliott’s soon-to-be parents found their way into a box which was placed into a cargo ship. The year was 1392, and amidst the waves of the ocean current, the female rat gave birth. The massive, rickety wooden boat found its way to a port in Spain.

The streets were ridden with people, but thankfully not as populated as China. This new baby rat’s eyes were shut tightly, blinding him from any sort of view. He and his parents would seek shelter in cargo ships, traveling from Europe, to Asia, and to Africa, again and again. Everything was going fine until his father got caught in a trap and his mother got killed trying to save him. He was on his own.

Once the ship reached a port in Osaka, Japan, he got off safely, scampering over to some shelter. Through the vents, he ran, and eventually made his way inside. Suddenly he came upon his future leader with fear in his eyes.

There he sat, in a cage, awaiting his death. He scratched himself over and over, fleas biting his skin and gnats flying around him. The cage door opened and the man had tools in his hands.

“I’ll call you Elliott.”

He’s an Atheist. I mean, he is a rat, after all.

Any special powers or abilities:
He’s literally a dead man— er, rat— walking. He seems to be unable to feel pain and can live no matter how torn apart he gets as long as his brain is intact. Blood loss isn’t even that much of a problem, even though it drips from his exposed innards.
