It's pretty self-explanatory.
It's now 2080, where androids are becoming increasingly commonplace. Aside from the most common type, robots used for assistance, there are also Vocaloids and UTAUloids; androids whose sole purpose is for creating music.

Meaning behind name:
Naki- (鳴) meaning song, and -ne (音) meaning sound. The suffix -ne is something pretty much all the vocaloids and UTAU have, but it's not compulsory in every case.
Mikazuki (三日月) means "Three-sun-moon".

Mikazuki Munechika (三日月宗近), occasionally referred to as Miroku (ミ六), or 36 in Japanese (a reference to his serial number)

Appearance:
Nakine Mikazuki's design was intended to look old fashioned but at the same time, feature futuristc design elements and reference the samurai warriors of ancient Japan. He's relatively tall at 180 centimeters, with fair, smooth skin and light blue eyes with a golden crescent moon shape located on the bottom of the iris. Like the other vocaloids, there are USB and MIDI ports on the side of his right thigh and forearm and his serial number is stamped on his left wrist. He can usually be seen wearing an elaborate sayagata-patterned ankle-length kimono, colored blue and white with crescent moon patterns located on the front and on his sleeves, and a set of decorative armor plates which hold his various function switches (such as power button, volume control etc.) His short black hair is usually accessorized with a set of black headphones decorated with golden tassels and occasionally cherry blossoms.

Personality:
Despite his youthful appearance, Mikazuki talks and behaves like an old man and can be seen as a "wise old sensei" sort of mentor-figure to some of the younger vocaloids and UTAU. He's pretty carefree and somewhat lazy. Nothing ever seems to surprise him, although he's very cheerful and optimistic, a smile almost always on his face.
