"You know me too well, it seems!" Yukiko knew she was bound to loose, so she allowed herself to get cornered and dropped her katanas on the floor as they made a clank. "You win!"

Atticus frowned slightly as he knew she was giving up too soon. However, he wasn't upset with the win. "Hahaha, still haven't bested this old man it seems!" He raised Yukiko's chin with his gladius, "So what do I get for a reward?"

She chuckled, and looked up at him as her chin was raised by the Gladius. "Well, what do I have to offer? A boring old Ainu lady like me could give nothing to a big roman brute like you." That was said jokingly, of course, and she over exaggerated her words.

Atticus let out a low chuckle and lowered his lashes. He raised the Gladius a little higher, so Yukiko's face was at an angle, "Oh really?"

After a few moments, she leaned in, and one would expect a kiss but instead- she tilted her head and planted a kiss on his cheek. In her mind, this was clever and she gently pushed him out of the way, clutching her stomach and laughing way too hard. "Expecting a kiss, were you? I'm not some Oiran or Yūjo." She snickered and covered her mouth with her hand, turned away from him.

Atticus sighed, knowing full well she would not have kissed him. "I know Signora Honda." he smirked, "If you were, we would have skipped the kiss." He chuckled and sheathed his sword.

"Well, I wouldn't know." Letting out a chuckle, she composed herself and dusted off her attire. "Why, have you slept with an Oiran?" She found this funny and bursted out in laughter, again, wiping tears from her eyes.

He huffed and pushed her shoulder away jokingly. "If any man says he has not, he is a LIAR!" He started to chuckle and joined her on the ground.

"You know, Atticus, you're the first person who has made me laugh in a while. Be proud of yourself!" She gave him a grin, re-arranging herself to sit criss-cross-applesauce.

He makes a bowing gesture with his arms. "Anytime madame. It's my specialty." He pauses then frowns a bit, "Wait....are you ok?"

"Atticus, I'm completely fine." She found it strange he'd ask that, and shot a question right back at him. "Why do you say that? Do I look bad?"

"You said you hadn't laughed in a long time. A woman like you should be laughing all the time!" He makes a lope-sided grin.

"If you'd 'step into my shoes,' you would see why I'm...not the most enthusiastic person around." She let out a dry chuckle at his response. "A woman like me? Right."

Atticus sighed, "I didn't mean it that way, it's just.....Everyone has had hardships and I can't imagine what you've been through." He scratched the back of his neck. "I just think that everyone has the right to be happy."
